A gratefulness practice
We invite you to perform this ancient and sacred ritual with us. The haywarikuy is an energy offering ceremony, and in this experience we learn how to make this offering by creating a flower mandala. By giving back to Mother Earth and demonstrating respect for our sacred mother, we all connect to align ourselves with the will of nature.
At the start of harvest, the Q’ero community in the Andes performs ceremonies called despachos. They perform these offerings of flowers and other fruits of the earth to give thanks to Mother Nature and strengthen their bond with her spirit.
Our guided hikes include a ritual inspired by these despachos to thank the earth for letting us into her home–nature.
In the sacred flower offering workshop, we teach you the history and the meaning of the steps in this ceremony.
Learn as you participate in the ceremony. Feel the energy as gratefulness and love fill the space to be offered up to Pachamama.
The Andean despacho ceremony is sacred; see the paq’okuna medicine people perform the full ritual when we visit the Q’eros on our Journey to Your Roots excursion.
